Sassi Bride Megan's Edinburgh Engagement Shoot

Last month we announced the lucky winner of our Sassi Bride competition - the lovely Megan from Scotland. Megan is set to wear a stunning Sassi Holford dress when she marries fiancé Paul next July and she will be blogging all about her plans in the run up to the big day.

Megan and Paul recently met up with their photographer, Julie Tinton, for a romantic engagement shoot in Edinburgh, so we thought to kick things off we would share with you some of the beautiful images Julie captured of the happy couple.

Megan told us, "Meeting with our photographer Julie Tinton was a great experience. We decided to have our shoot taken in Edinburgh, as we love going there for a getaway. The buildings are beautiful and there is a great atmosphere with lots of locals and tourists around! Having the chance to meet Julie was really great as she got to know us as a couple. Although I can be quite awkward when getting my picture taken at times, she made us feel at ease and we had a great laugh! We were delighted with the pictures and can't wait for her to shoot our wedding now!"

Congratulations Megan and Paul!

Thank you to Julie Tinton Photography for sharing these fabulous images with us.

Julie told us, "It was lovely meeting up with Megan and Paul in Edinburgh and hearing all about their wedding plans. Their wedding day sounds truly amazing! I understand everybody feels a little nervous when having their photographs taken professionally for the first time but with a little bit of direction all those worries soon disappear when you realise you’re enjoying yourself!

This is why an engagement shoots can be so beneficial.  Megan and Paul were both fantastic to work with.

I offer a complimentary engagement shoot to all my couples, it’s a great way for us to get to know each other before their big day, and for them to let their hair down and get comfortable in front of the camera and have some fun!"

Some fabulous imagery from Julie - particularly like the crop in the 4th shot - and agree with her sentiment that having a pre-wed shoot can be a great way to get to know bride & groom. It can also give you a useful photographic insight into how they are when having their photographs taken, and indeed the practicalities of whether they have a 'best side', how often they blink (seriously!!) and how they are with each other. Some couples spend their day embracing, whereas some are far less tactile. Anyway, love hearing about your 'Sassi bride' and will enjoy the blogs up until the big day.
