Winter Wedding Wonderland

With Spring just around the corner, I thought it fitting to say a fond farewell to winter by sharing with you a stunning winter wedding fashion shoot at The Gibbon Bridge Hotel, shot by Jonny Draper and styled by Gill and Georgina of Dreamcatcher Bridal and Jane Thompson from Flower Design.

The images of this winter wonderland are simply stunning and really show the best of our British winter weather on a crisp and sunny snow filled winter’s day.  Jonny Draper is a truly talented photographer and I love the way that he has captured the light so beautifully in these magical images. Jonny is at his happiest behind a camera and loves to shoot weddings.

"Weddings are amazing.  Laughter, tears, excitement and genuine joy are everywhere you look and that's why I love being right in the middle of them.

Shooting unique images is probably the most important thing to me.  I promise every bride and groom something different, something that their friends haven't got, something that people who have been married in their venue before them haven't got.  Something that is all about them as a couple and as individuals and something that reflects their personalities.  Sometimes that's something very dramatic and high-fashion, on other occassions it's something that simply captures a moment between them on their special day.  But above all, it's unique."

Gill and Georgina of Dreamcatcher Bridal are valued members of The Wedding Vine’s exclusive Premier Portfolio and provided the gorgeous fashion styling for this beautiful shoot.  Dreamcatcher, based in Kirkham Lancashire, is home to a stunning array of designer wedding dresses from prestigious design houses including, Suzanne Neville, Sassi Holford, Donna Salado and Ritva Westenius to name but a few. On the shoot they used both practical and stylish wedding accessories including Ugg Boots and snuggly but stylish fur stoles and wraps.

Dreamy floral styling was created by the amazingly talented floral designer Jane Thompson of ‘Flower Design,St Anne’s. Jane is without a doubt one of the undisputed ‘Jewels in the Crown’ of floral design in the UK. Check out her amazing blog for masses of inspiration for wedding flower ideas.  Here she has created a wonderful winter wedding scheme with the promise of spring shining through.

The backdrop for the winter wonderland wedding shoot was the award winning Gibbon Bridge Hotel.  Set in the heart of the Forest of Bowland it is a unique wedding venue where couples can hold their outdoor wedding ceremony in a beautiful bespoke bandstand. It’s quintessential English country garden outdoor setting is an inspired choice in which to say ‘I do’ in style. However in England we know all too well that we can’t always rely on the sunshine so the creative team have recently added the stunning Orangery, which leads out onto the terrace and award winning gardens. The Orangery is flooded with natural daylight with its large glass doors, elegant glass roof and full-length windows, bringing the outside in,making not just spring and summer, but autumn and winter weddings magical too!

Well done to Olivia and Emily the beautiful models who braved the cold and managed to look so cool (pardon the pun!) and stylish in the sub zero temperatures!

Flower Design created two column shaped pedestal designs of corylus, moss and bulbs with plumes of Euclayptus, Oriental lilies and Monte Casino on top.

Ritva Westenius champagne faux fur wrap,

Halo & Co side headpiece, style 'Inez'

This wedding bouquet by Flower Design couldn't have looked more perfect, lots of wintery branches, Muscari and Daffodil bulbs and white freesia.

Kate Sherford 'Fearne' ivory silk supreme & beaded organza dress, Blossom tiara.

Flower Design's Winter Wedding Bouquet - the promise of spring dominated by fragrant Cyclamen, Tete a Tete, Tulips, Rosemary and Muscari.

Essence of Australia style D1129 oyster dolce satin:

Halo & Co side headpiece style Ivy

The flowers are simple and elegant,  I love this Paper White Narcissus wedding bouquet.

The Gibbon Bridge hotel houses a fine collection of glass art by David Reade.  Each piece is inset into the pure white walls and enhanced by down-lighters, enhancing the beautiful colours and facets of the glass.

The orangery at The Gibbon Bridge is a wonderful contemporary space to hold a civil wedding ceremony.

Farewell to winter, spring is just around the corner - Flower Design's 'Paperwhites, roses, ivy, berries, grasses.'
