Blossom - Wedding Style

The first glimpse of blossoms in late spring signals the promise of the warm sunny days to come as we head towards summer. Imagine your wedding day in the warm spring sunshine with nature’s own confetti shower – a cascade of blossom petals gently fluttering down on the warm breeze.

Make the most of natures beautiful pink display at a wedding venue where you can truly enjoy them, perhaps at Kew Gardens where the blossom trees are in bloom from late April through to early May. Dine on fresh seasonal produce - asparagus and Parma ham, lobster washed down with a cold glass of Sancerre and of course cherry (blossom) brulee!

I have taken my inspiration for this design from the delicate colour palette of apple and cherry blossom with their soft shades of pale pink, white and cream. The blossom design is featured on the stunning cherry tree wedding cake from Maisie Fantasie. The theme is also continued in the invitations from Hello lucky, the plantable ‘Please be seeded’ place cards from Candles & Such and in the cherry blossom mint tin favours from 2become1 Weddings.

Blossoms have soft, almost frilly edges and this is reflected in the choice of gown from Le Sposa di Jo, with its fluid lines and floating layers of silk organza. The gown is complemented by vintage rose silk shoes from Dianne Hassall and a delicate flower pin from Wedding Obsession. For the bouquet I have chosen roses and blossoms in shades of soft pink and white, though peonies would also complement the theme beautifully.
