Sarah and Matt's Picturesque Wedding at Queen's Eyot Island

Following a romantic proposal in the British Virgin Islands, Sarah and Matt chose the picturesque waterside setting of Queen's Eyot island, Bray to celebrate their wedding day. Keeping the waterside theme of their engagement, Sarah and Matt’s elegant celebration had heaps of classic British charm - complete with a bright red London bus and vintage Rolls Royce!
Sarah looked every inch an English rose in her lace covered Augusta Jones gown, finished off with pearl accessories and a beautiful posy of English garden roses.

The Proposal

Matt’s proposal was totally unexpected and utterly romantic! We were sailing in the British Virgin Islands and on our last night we moored up at the tiny island of St Peter. We spent the day swimming off the boat then booked dinner on the beach. Before the meal arrived Matt suggested a little walk along the beach, which had been lit by candles.  All of a sudden, he got down on one knee and popped the question! I was so shocked (it was April Fools day after all!!!) I made him ask me twice!

The Wedding Gown and Accessories

My wedding dress was a full length lace gown by Augusta Jones with a silk sash and my shoes were French Sole. In keeping with tradition I wore my mother's pearl earrings as my something borrowed and had a lace covered garter as my something blue.

The Ceremony and Reception

We held our ceremony at St John the Baptist in Windsor.  Despite the bustling town, the church is beautiful and quite magical inside!

In keeping with the waterside theme of our engagement, we chose Queen's Eyot Island in Bray for our reception, it is a really beautiful setting.

The Styling and Finishing Touches

We wanted a traditional wedding with a seasonal theme so we went for pale pinks, greens and creams to style the wedding, and used vintage touches were we could to fit the location and feel of the wedding.

I am so lucky to be blessed with such talented friends.  My friend Gemma did all the flowers for us, which was the most amazing gift.  They were so beautiful.  Also my very talented friend Louise did my makeup as well as my mum and sister. She was fantastic!

Memorable Moments

The church and ceremony were definitely a highlight, we were blown away by how romantic and magical it all felt.

The old double decker buses were also brilliant - they were a great surprise for our guests and looked amazing!

One of the biggest surprises was the Rolls Royce my Dad had booked for us to travel to the church in, it was stunning and I felt like a princess!
