Founded in 1988, Country House Weddings Ltd is the UK’s longest established group of wedding venues. Family owned and managed to this day, they operate four exclusive use country house wedding venues – St Audries ParkClearwell CastleLeez Priory and Gosfield Hall.

Unlike many other wedding venues they offer full exclusivity and each of their venues are used solely to host weddings. Hosting up to 250 weddings a year you are definitely in the right hands for an unforgettable experience on your special day. So what does each of these beautiful venues offer?

St Audries Park


Situated within 100 acres of tranquil deer park, overlooking the Quantock Hills, this fairytale manor house provides the perfect venue for your special day and was voted Best Wedding Venue in 2013 by the readers of Wedding Ideas Magazine.

Having exclusive use means that you can hold both the ceremony and reception (up to 250 guests) without having to uproot guests. The Victorian Orangery offers a unique setting for your wedding ceremony and the stunning banqueting hall can seat up to 130 guests for the wedding breakfast. 


Acocommodation needn’t be a worry. There are 39 luxury bedrooms and a hidden cottage in the grounds for the bride and bridesmaids and Peregrine House can accommodate the groom pre wedding day too. With the new addition of Church Lodge the park can now sleep up to 40 guests for the night before and over 100 guests for the night of your wedding.


Gosfield Hall

The first of the Essex located venues. Gosfield Hall is a stunning Georgian Manor house and winner of Wedding Ideas Magazine ‘Best Wedding Venue’ 2011 and Essex Wedding Awards ‘Wedding Venue of the Year – Heritage’ 2012


Formerly a Royal residence, the Queen Charlotte’s Oak panelled gallery with a 120ft long aisle is perfect for wedding ceremonies and the newly licensed carriageway is a gorgeous location for outdoor ceremonies on sunny days.


There are also 20 beautiful bedroom suites and the Marquis of Buckingham's former ballroom provides an exquisite setting for the wedding reception meal for up to 116 guests as well as several grand and ornate reception rooms for you and your guests to enjoy.


Clearwell Castle

The award-winning castle is set within the Forest of Dean and is thee premier wedding venue in Gloucestershire. Winner of the British Wedding Awards ‘Best Wedding Venue’ in 2016, Clearwell Castle is the perfect fairytale setting for your wedding daydreams to come true.


Facilities include 15 beautiful bedrooms all exclusively reserved and of course the magnificent ballroom which boasts a 75ft aisle with leaded glass windows. This unique feature allows you to have all of the beauty of church features set in a castle instead.



Leez Priory

The second venue located in Essex speaks for itself, Set in 40 acres of parkland, with lakes, lawns and a sweeping driveway and three times winner of Wedding Ideas Magazine ‘Best Wedding Venue’, Leez Priory’s magnificent Tudor mansion is one of the most sought after wedding venues in the country.  


The spectacular Great Hall can seat up to 74 guests for the wedding reception and the newly converted Coach House can seat up to 100 guests. Again exclusivity allows you the full use of the house and up to 250 people for the evening reception.


Leez Priory also boasts 15 beautiful bedrooms as well as a hidden cottage within the grounds for the Bride and Bridesmaids

Civil ceremonies can be performed in any of seven licensed settings including the stunning Great Tower which stands adjacent to the main house and outside beneath the carriageway for a truly unique setting.
