Editors pick of the week: Smooth and Slim Designer Shapewear

                           Editors pick of the week

Now be honest ladies, we're all guilty of having a quick 'nip and tuck' with the help of our little friend 'Spanx' (actually, bestfriend!) under our favourite LBD for a night out, so why not invite Mr Spanx to the wedding, after all, it is the most you will ever be pictured (from every single angle) in one day!

"Honey, I've been wearing this all day...honest!"

I know what you're thinking...the bride is meant to have a white sexy number under her gown, but who said you can't change your under garment before Mr Perfect whisks you away at the end of the night?! We won't tell if you don't!

My pick of the week this week is the fabulous 'Smooth & Slim' Designer Shapewear range by bridal fashion designer Sarah Janks.

Luxury bridal designer Sarah Janks has appointed Good Results to handle its PR in the UK for both the main bridal collection and its newly-launched shapewear line, Smooth & Slim.

Founded in 2011 by its eponymous designer, Sarah Janks’s fashion-influenced bridal collections have been met with critical acclaim around the world, blossoming across the US and UK as well as Australia, where it holds its stunning flagship store. Currently stocked in 28 stores worldwide, 2015 will see the brand focus on building and strengthening its relationship with the UK market.

Coveting four distinct collections – Elan, Canto Paradiso, Glasshouse and Forget Me Not – as well as a range of classic styles representative of Janks’ body of work, the luxurious gowns welcome beautiful, sophisticated styling met with a blend of opulent textures and fine detailing, all of which encompass Janks’ passion for couture design.

Borne out of the success of the bridal collections and in response to the growing need for comfortable, secure and backless garments to wear under low-back gowns, Sarah Janks recently launched its Smooth & Slim shapewear line. The breathable, lightweight material offers brides with both a supportive and flattering solution to underwear for their wedding day, ranging from shorts to a bralette, slip dress or full bodysuit.

"The girls wearing the low back gowns wanted a comfortable, secure backless underwear solution that provided bust support, slenderized the body, and smoothed out all the bumps. So, we looked for a product to recommend as a service to our brides. But we found none that we were happy to recommend. There were elements of what the brides wanted, but no one garment offered the combination of elements we were after.

The biggest issue was that backless garments didn’t provide support for the bust. We wanted something that combined breathable, lightweight, low back and bra like underwear solution for our brides. And straps! Girls over an A cup didn’t want to go with stick on cups, they wanted the support straps offered. None of the straps on existing underwear was set wide apart enough to be hidden under our dresses. So we set out to create the most comfortable and flattering shapewear possible for our brides. The undergarment would be breathable, of functional form and fabric, allow brides to move easily and ramp up the sexiness quotient. Most importantly, it HAD to be comfortable. No feeling nauseous mid-wedding because of too-tight shapewear, we were working with the brides body, not against it.

I’d been toying with with designs over the years, but it was only once I had women asking for something non-existent that I realized it was up to us. So, we threw out all our previous ideas about shapewear and came up with a new perspective borne of our customer’s requests."

Sarah Janks will be unveiling its Spring Summer 16 collection at The Saatchi Gallery, London from 15- 17 May 2015 where we will be interviewing the designer on her inspiration for the collection!
