#MakeupMonday: Beat The Winter Chill!

#MakeupMonday: Beat The Winter Chill!

Every bride wants beautiful, glowing skin on their big day, but if you’re getting married in the colder months it’s not always that easy. With a combination of the icy cold winds and being blasted with indoor heating, it’s bound to take its toll causing dry, tight and even cracked skin. Fear not, The Wedding Vine is here to help you with some tips to help you beat the winter blues and keep your skin looking radiant in time for your wedding day.

In the winter it’s all about that big M word, and no I don’t mean marriage…moisturise! This is the most important thing to do if you want to keep your skin in tip top condition. You will need to invest in a slightly heavier moisturiser and apply more often. Don’t neglect the rest of your body especially your hands! Use a hand and nail cream after you’ve been out in the cold. Make sure you hydrate yourself, your skin will go dry quicker if you’re dehydrated so try and have at least eight glasses of water a day and more when you exercise.

Find a beauty regime that you like and stick with it, make sure you cleanse and tone your skin every day to remove impurities and help to give your skin that extra glowy boost.

Oil Based Creams

To add a little lift to your night time regime replace your night cream with an oil based cream three times a week. This will act as a mini facial for skin whilst you sleep and allow your skin to rejuvenate overnight as essential oils penetrate to the deepest layer of the skin, helping to restore its natural barrier.

Treat yourself to a facial once a month and your skin will thank you for it. An expert will be able to suggest the best treatment for your skin type and give you an enviable glow. Spa days are also a great girly trip out as a hen party, get your girls together for a fun day of pampering.

With Christmas and cold weather combined it can be very easy to eat unhealthy comfort foods to keep you warm, but these foods don’t do anything you’re your skin! Try and eat a variety and colourful diet including vitamin rich fruits and vegetables; oranges are great for vitamin C and leafy greens will help to keep those nasty colds at bay. To help beat those winter blues you need a higher dosage of vitamin D in your life, you can find this in foods such as egg yolks and naturally fatty fish.

Follow some of these simple rules and you’ll soon see enviable results, for more skin and beauty product inspiration check out our Pinterest here.
