Hollyoaks Star Kieron Richardson Marries At The Beautiful Devonshire Dome

Wedding Bells For Hollyoaks Star At The Devonshire Dome In Buxton!

The picturesque Peak District town of Buxton, Derbyshire hit the headlines last month following the glamourous wedding of Hollyoaks actor Kieron Richardson who married his partner Carl Hyland in a glittering ceremony surrounded by many of his fellow cast members at the town’s magnificent Devonshire Dome.

With the overall theme taking a spin on a traditional big white wedding and a dress code of black and white, Kieron and Carl were smartly dressed in formal suits and accompanied by 12 castmate bridesmaids who all sported an array of stunning ivory wedding gowns and posed happily for photographers on the red carpeted steps of the historic venue.

Kieron’s agent Janet Freebury commented on why the Devonshire Dome was so perfect for the couple’s big day: “Kieron wanted somewhere with the wow factor, somewhere completely different. When we came to visit the Dome for the first time, he fell in love with the venue. The location was fantastic, Buxton is a really lovely place. The wedding was the first to take place in the Dome itself too, making the occasion extra special for Kieron and Carl.”

The ceremony was an elaborate affair, with over 200 guests gathering to celebrate the couple’s nuptials under the breathtaking backdrop of the the Grade II listed architecturally-building, which is famed for housing Europe’s largest unsupported dome. Boasting 44 columns and a 145ft diameter colonnade supporting its 560 ton roof, the venue is arguably one of the most magnificent event venues in the UK offering a unique setting forlavish large-scale weddings with the flexibility to creatively transform the extensive space to a variety of styles and themes.

Before the couple said I do, guests were treated to a catwalk show featuring the 12 stunning bridesmaids, which included Hollyoaks stars Jorgie Porter, Jennifer Metcalfe and Gemma Merna as well as Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack. Kieron and Carl opted to say ‘I do’ from a high gloss white catwalk and stage set so that all guests could get a perfect view of the happy couple expressing their vows and signing the register.

Beautiful white flowers adorned the Dome and guests were entertained by an opera singer, ribbon dancer and a Scottish piper at different points of the wedding breakfast which included a starter of chicken liver parfait with homemade chutney followed by rump of Derbyshire lamb and a traditional dessert of sticky toffee pudding.

Following the speeches, the happy couple took to the floor and enjoyed entertainment from soul legends The Drifters. Guests tucked into mini fish and chips before enjoying a quirky five-tiered wedding cake decorated with 12 sugar crafted bridesmaid figures, a model of the couple’s dog and the happy couple on the top tier.
