Maya and Gary - Italian Wedding at Lake Garda

That's Amore!

This beautiful Italian wedding really makes you dream of getting away to the sun with its vibrant Mediterranean colour palette - reminiscent of the deepest blue summer skies and ripe lemons…

We'd like to take this opportunity to welcome Scott-Wood Photography to our Premier Portfolio.  Kevin Scott-Wood has that rare combination of creativity, discretion, sensitivity, passion, humour and integrity that commend him to an ever expanding client list across London and the South East of England and, as the pictures demonstrate, should be at the top of your list of photographers for your Italian wedding!

Gary and I had always dreamed of getting married abroad but wanted somewhere only a few hours away so that it was feasible for people to come for a weekend if they wanted to or turn it into a holiday if they wished.  A work colleague suggested Lake Garda. and Gary and I fell in love with the idea instantly…. Great food, great wine, such a romantic culture, amazing scenery.  We got in touch with Lake Garda Weddings and met a wonderful lady who would prove to become almost part of our family.  We took a trip out to Lake Garda and our minds were made up.  It was amazing.   At the time we thought we would have about 30 guests at the wedding and were totally overwhelmed when 70 of our family and friends came!!!  The beautiful venue that we chose was Lonato Castle and we all stayed in Desenzano.  We even had some friends that hired a VW camper van and travelled over through the South of France and camped in Lake Garda!

Can you believe that my Dad chose my wedding dress!!!  I found a beautiful dress at Bridal Gowns at Jodi in Maidstone, a lovely family run business - they make you feel so warm and welcome. I took my mum, dad and sister for a second opinion, but it was my dad who found ‘the one.’ My dream dress was designed by Essense and it was exactly what I wanted – the right balance of simplicity and detail.

They say, ‘when in Rome’ (or in our case Garda), do as the Roman’s do, so we treated our guests to a mouthwatering Italian feast of sea bass, risotto, salads and pasta washed down with fine local wines, followed by an Italian desert.buffet.

We danced the night away under the stars while our guests sampled amazing cocktails.  Just one hiccup – the evening’s dancing was interrupted as the power supply kept cutting out, but being surrounded by great friends, that wasn’t a problem, they serenaded us until the power was restored by another very talented friend who thankfully is a great engineer!

The reception setup looks amazing, you must have had some dedicated people taking the time out to set all the places and name cards and favours.
What a brilliant day it was.

Truly one of the best days of my life. When Maya and Gary described the venue it sounded amazing, but nothing could have prepare me for it's historical beauty and the breathtaking surroundings. The ceremony was in Italian, which just added to the romance.

The food was perfect, no one could have come away from that wedding hungry (or sober!).

Such a beautiful day and one which it was the greatest honour to be part of.

What a fantastic wedding in the most amazing setting. Everything was perfect - the highlight was eating a wonderful meal outside in the castle keep and as the sun went down candles were lit all around the castle walls. We have some fantastic memories of the whole day.

The only trouble is that we took our two daughters along and they both want to have a wedding just like it!

I can honestly say Maya and Gary's wedding day was one of the best of my life - it was perfect. Beautiful food, beautiful setting, beautiful ceremony and of cause the beautiful bride! The barr has been set hideously high for any future nuptials.
