I am an award winning documentary wedding photographer working in an honest, natural, photojournalistic style.

I have been a photographer for all my working life, with a background rooted in editorial photography and photojournalism. I bring this twenty year+ experience to my wedding photography, documenting wedding days as if I was a shooting a reportage photo essay for a magazine. Capturing the atmosphere, the characters, the fleeting moments, the emotions - good photography is fundamentally good storytelling. I believe that the best wedding photography focuses principally upon the people. When you look back at a wedding it is to the story and emotions of the day. It’s the story of two people making a commitment in front of family and friends - that is what my photography aims to capture forever.

My approach is to shoot using the natural light as much as possible to remain unobtrusive and retain the character of the scene. Not interfering, or creating contrived situations but quietly observing and anticipating the capture of timeless images. Good documentary wedding photography should give you a visual record of the day that you will look back at for years to come and smile. Images that you will want to hang on your wall. It is all about recording memories. Someone who was not there on the day should get the feeling that they may well have been, just by following the story of the day in your wedding photographs.

Hopefully this website should give you a good idea of the style of my work.

If this informal and natural documentary approach to wedding photography, rather than the traditional approach of endless staged shots and group shot after group shot, appeals to you please do contact me to discuss your wedding plans and my photography.
